We are a small, family ran farm located in North Central Florida.
Our chicken keeping passion began with a desire to become more self-sustaining, and then turned into a deep admiration for egg colors and the genetics behind them. Along the way we’ve acquired a few *favorite* breeds, both because of their egg colors and some for their beautiful plumage. We are happy to be sharing those labors of love with you one dozen hatching eggs at a time. We've been shipping eggs for years and have developed a professional, proven method for shipping that has even been referred to as "boujie" - We use foam shippers and then safely double box that box inside of a #7 USPS box for added protection and shock absorption. We do everything we can to ensure that eggs are going to arrive to you safely and with air cells in tact. We will not accept responsibility for any broken eggs upon arrival. We test for fertility weekly. However, there are several reasons, all of which are completely out of our control, that we are unable to guarantee viability or hatch rates with shipped eggs. Some of these issues are as follows:
🥚Post office handling and unexpected shipping delays. Our eggs will always be collected within 5 days of shipping and inspected for cracks. We are experienced shippers. Each dozen purchased will be carefully packaged in foam shippers and then double boxed to ensure maximum protection during their journey. Even with all the right precautions before shipment though, sometimes rough handling or delayed shipment time have negative effect viability.
🥚Incubator malfunctions and personal incubation methods are totally beyond our control. On our farm we typically see a hatch rate of about 80% (with the exception of our silkies and olives, I swear those eggs would hatch in any circumstance). We incubate monthly and are well practiced with our incubators and acclimated with our standing temps and humidity here in Florida. We’ve found that our darker Marans eggs and Olives in particular require more consideration about humidity than other breeds. With all of this being said, these are some other reasons why we simply can not guarantee hatch rates on shipped eggs, or really, any egg not hatched here on our farm.

When you choose to purchase from us, we assume that you have read and understand the following information:
We’ve been mindful to share photos here of some of our current breeding flocks each season as well as a few grow outs we’ve produced and their egg colors. With that being said, breeding is not an exact science and sometimes abnormalities or undesired traits pop up in offspring that were un-intended. Breeding two show quality birds does not guarantee show quality offspring. Breeding from the darkest black copper Marans eggs does not guarantee that her offspring will lay that dark. Additionally Due to the multi-generational nature of our olive eggers, many pairings do offer the potential for brown eggs from their offspring even though the goals of those pairings are to creating offspring who lay darker olives, teals, spearmints and greens. We are happy to answer any questions you may have about our breeding flocks prior to making a purchase.

Recommendations for handling shipped eggs
- Once you receive your eggs remove them carefully, inspect for cracks and hairline fractures, and place them pointy side down in an egg carton to rest and come to room temperature after the shipping process. Many experienced hatchers will suggest that you allow eggs to rest at room temperature for 24 hours prior to setting them in the incubator. ***UPDATE*** If incubating in an incubator that holds the eggs upright and gives you the ability to effect the frequency of turning by the egg turner - then we've had success moving the eggs right into the incubator after shipping, without any resting time. *Note* that this method has proven to work best in incubators like The Brinesea Ovations, Chickcozy and Hatching Time incubators (not farm innovators, NEVER farm innovators). Eggs should always be incubate pointy side down.
- When you set your eggs in the incubator, leave the egg turner off for 1-3 days at the start of incubation. This is to allow the air cells to settle after shipping.
- After 5 days of incubation candle to check air sacs. If you find that they are "Saddled", meaning they have taken on a type of wonky shape and are not nice and oval around the wide end of the egg, or that the air cells have not settled fully, then it's okay to keep the egg turner off for a few more days. You can hand turn eggs that are ready sooner than others by simply rocking them gently back and forth.
- If your incubator does not support holding eggs upright such as NR360's, then you can cut up an egg carton so that you can use each individual space to hold your eggs up right. I call these Egg Bras.
- Sometimes, especially if you're in the beginning phases of incubation and hatching, its much to learn by watching as opposed to reading. Ive created a multitude of videos about hatching shipped eggs on YouTube, TikTok, Facebook and Patreon. Use the buttons below for quick access to those playlists!
